Guest Editor's Introduction

As natural organisms, social role-players and personal selves, human beings exist at the intersections of objective, intersubjective and subjective times. Postmodern life in particular invites being experienced as occurring at the temporal crossroads of a heterochronous world. Time as such may be impossible to define, but temporal phenomena are linked through various kinds of family resemblance. Theoretical awareness of the multiplicity of times should aim at improving the practical coordination of different rhythms pulsating through our bodies, minds, societies and environments.
